महाड - मुंबई-गोवा महामार्गावर महाडजवळील राजेवाडी येथे सावित्री नदीवरील ब्रिटिशकालीन पूल कोसळून एसटीच्या दोन बससह चार-पाच वाहने बुडाल्याचा अंदाज वर्तवला जात आहे. मंगळवारी (ता. २) रात्री साडेअकराच्या सुमारास ही दुर्घटना घडली. या दुर्घटनेत सुमारे ३० जण बेपत्ता झाल्याची भीती व्यक्त केली जात आहे. तीन दिवसांपासून रायगड जिल्ह्याला पावसाने झोडपून काढले आहे. पुराच्या पाण्याच्या प्रचंड दाबामुळे शेकडो वर्षे जुना असलेला हा पूल रात्री कोसळला. नौदल, तटरक्षक दल आणि राष्ट्रीय आपत्ती निवारण दलाची (एनडीआरएफ) पथके नदीत वाहून गेलेल्या बस व इतर वाहनांसह प्रवाशांचा शोध घेत आहेत. मात्र, सायंकाळी उशिरापर्यंत कोणाचाही थांग लागलेला नव्हता.
