WorldSkills Lyon 2024 concluded in grand style!

The final day was marked by countdowns, cheers, and celebrations as the WorldSkills Competition 2024 in Lyon, France, came to a close yesterday. This event represents the culmination of intense training by the Competitors, supported by dedicated Experts, and it truly was an incredible experience. Hats off to WorldSkills for organizing yet another spectacular competition!

It was a moment of pride for Team India, who made an impressive mark in Lyon. India secured 4 bronze medals and 12 Medallions of Excellence across 54 skill categories. I’m thrilled to share that Miss Jaanhvi, the Graphic Design candidate won a Medallion of Excellence. She was trained under some of the best trainers from Jain University and DMES faculty members.

As we look ahead to the next "Skills Olympics" in Shanghai, China, in September 2026, it's crucial to start identifying candidates early. A minimum of one year of rigorous preparation is essential to compete with strong contenders like China, Korea, and Taiwan, where candidates often undergo over two years of intense training and secure numerous medals. Let's gear up, plan ahead, and aim even higher for 2026!
