We recently upgraded the brakes on a Jetta by installing an OE 312mm Big brake kit up from the stock 288mm rotor size. We supplied the customer with Brembo DOT4 L.V. brake fluid along with Brembo Sport HP2 Brake pads. To top it all off we sourced Genuine OE VW 312mm Discs for the brake upgrade! Not pictured in the post are the carriers that need to be changed to accomodate the bigger discs.

The great thing about the VAG group is the inter-compatibility of parts that allows us to improve aspects of the car that were designed initially keeping the costs in mind! For example on this Jetta, we just needed Passat B7 brake caliper carriers to upgrade the setup to a 312mm disc size from the 288mm stock one which massively improves the braking surface area and also provides additional cooling surface area for the brakes!

The 312mm setup was provided by VW/Skoda in the higher state of tune models such as the Passat and Superb while the 288mm setup was kept for the lower 150bhp models like the Jetta and Laura!

We recently got a chance to install an OE Genuine VW/Skoda 340mm Big Brake Kit on this lovely Jetta MK6 TDi! The calipers, carriers, discs, and pads are all brand new and sourced from Volkswagen themselves to ensure the best quality and reliability in the long run.

*For reference, this is the same brake system that comes stock on the Octavia vRS230/245, Tiguan, and Kodiaq!*

The customer also decided to add a set of ProLine Racing UK Steel Braided Brake lines to complete the big brake kit and add an extra level of performance to the car!

We decided to go for the 340mm OE kit as it has a wide range of Aftermarket Pads and Discs and can easily be upgraded in the future!

The minimum size of wheels needed for this upgrade is 17" and this kit fits Skoda Laura, Superb 2, Superb MQB, Octavia MK3/3.5, Jetta MK6, Passat B7, Passat B8 directly as a plug and play kit!
