Here’s a glimpse into our journey that has been unfolding for over three decades.

Our inspiration for the week is the visionary Swiss-French architect and designer, Le Corbusier, who revolutionised modern architecture in the 20th century.

Known for his sleek, functional designs and the anthropometric scale of proportions called "Modulor," Corbusier sought harmony between human habitation and the surrounding environment. His impact is most evident in renowned structures such as the Villa Savoye, the Notre Dame du Haut, and the United Nations Headquarters, which reflect his commitment to simplicity, functionality, and a vision of architecture as a transformative force.

In designing Chandigarh as a modern capital for post-independence India, Le Corbusier significantly influenced Indian architecture. The Capitol Complex is one such shining example of Le Corbusier’s creative genius. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Complex comprises iconic buildings such as the Palace of Justice, Palace of Assembly and the Secretariat Building, along with four other monuments. Together, they’re just one of numerous creations that showcase a harmonious blend of form and symmetry, upholding Le Corbusier’s timeless legacy.
