The Explosive Detection Dog Team of the Army Dog Unit, Southern Command, in collaboration with the Pune City Police Bomb Detection & Disposal team, conducted a joint exercise to enhance preparedness, precision and coordinated response to potential explosive threats. The exercise, featuring simulated scenarios and deployment of detection dogs, reinforced civil-military cohesiveness and exchange of operational methodologies.
The initiative underscores a shared resolve towards integrated capability development and reinforces the approach to security challenges.

The 10-day Children’s Summer Adventure Camp–2026 concluded at , bringing together 120 young campers from across the country for an enriching journey of adventure, discipline and self-discovery.
Through rock climbing, trekking, horse riding, shooting, survival training, sports competitions and environmental outreach activities, the camp nurtured resilience, teamwork, leadership and confidence among the future generation. Visits to the Shola Reserve Forest and iconic landmarks further fostered environmental consciousness, cultural awareness and a spirit of exploration.

In a remarkable life-saving medical intervention, specialists at Army Institute of Cardio-Thoracic Sciences ( ), Pune successfully treated the wife of a veteran suffering from advanced oesophageal cancer that had created a dangerous passage between her food pipe and airway (Tracheoesophageal fistula) leading to critical breathing complications.
Using ECMO support,the multidisciplinary team performed a rare and highly complex airway intervention with deployment of Self Expanding Metallic Inverted Y- Stent in the air passage, restoring her airway and giving a new lease of life.
The successful treatment reflects the Indian Army’s advanced medical capability and unwavering commitment towards the welfare of veterans and their families.

organised a Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally at , attended by over 5000 , including 70 Veer Naris and Veer Matas from South Maharashtra.
Organised by the Kolhapur Terriers and presided over by the General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Maharashtra & Goa Sub Area, the rally focused on veteran welfare, pension grievances, ECHS, financial assistance and outreach initiatives, with informative sessions by the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) and Zila Sainik Kalyan Board.
