Call For 10-Minute Gap After Azan to Avoid Iftar–Maghrib Disputes in Masjid

M***i Nazir Ahmad Qasmi has suggested a clear arrangement to end frequent disagreements in Masjids over the timing of Iftar and Maghrib prayer. He said that in Makkah and Madinah a short pause is observed after the Azan so people can break their fast calmly, whereas locally some worshippers finish Iftar quickly in the mosque while those coming from homes are forced to wait, leading to tension.

He proposed that at least a 10-minute gap be kept after the Azan so people arriving from their homes can join the prayer on time. Alternatively, he said Masjids should organize a collective Iftar so everyone breaks the fast together and no confusion or conflict arises.
