Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on 26th July to mark India's triumph in the 1999 conflict with Pakistan. This successful culmination was 3 months long, beginning from 3rd May, 1999. The battle denouement with India reclaiming the peaks occupied.

It was a neat and methodically executed operation to oust the Pakistani force from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of the Northern Kargil region in Ladakh. The valour, sacrifice and courage of the kargil braveheart has endured the safety and security of our nation. Kargil Vijay Diwas, which honours India's military might and dedication to defending its frontiers, is a day of gratitude, reflection, and pride in the country.
