Driving at a double-lane roundabout
🚗 1. Before Entering the Roundabout
🔎 Observe & Slow Down
Reduce speed as you approach.
Look for road signs such as YIELD and pedestrian crossings.
Watch carefully for pedestrians at zebra crossings.
🛑 Yield to Traffic
Vehicles already inside the roundabout have the right of way.
Wait for a safe gap before entering.
Do not stop inside the roundabout unless necessary.
🛣 2. Choosing the Correct Lane
This is very important in a double-lane roundabout.
🔵 Use the RIGHT Lane If:
You are turning right
You are going straight (in this diagram’s guidance)
Stay in the outer lane and follow the blue marked path.
🔴 Use the LEFT Lane If:
You are turning left
You are going straight (as shown in the diagram’s left-side instruction)
Follow the inner lane and red marked path.
⚠ Always check road markings and arrows painted on the road.
🔄 3. While Inside the Roundabout
➡ Stay in Your Lane
Do not change lanes inside the roundabout unless clearly marked and safe.
Follow the curved lane markings carefully.
👀 Stay Alert
Watch for vehicles changing lanes.
Keep an eye on pedestrians at exits.
Maintain a steady, controlled speed.
🚦 4. Signaling & Exiting
✨ Signal Before Exiting
Turn on your indicator before you leave the roundabout.
Signal early enough to inform other drivers.
🚶 Watch for Pedestrians
Slow down near crosswalks.
Stop if pedestrians are crossing.
❌ Common Mistakes to Avoid
Entering without yielding.
Using the wrong lane for your exit.
Changing lanes suddenly inside.
Forgetting to signal when exiting.
Driving too fast.
