There are several types of cerebral palsy,
:Spastic CP: Characterized by muscle stiffness, this is the most common type, affecting around 70-80% of individuals with
CP.Dyskinetic CP: Involves involuntary, uncontrolled movements, and can include athetoid or dystonic forms
Ataxic CP: Affects coordination and balance, leading to shaky movements.
Mixed CP: Involves a combination of different types, making classification more complex
The causes of cerebral palsy are multifaceted and can be attributed to various factors
Prenatal Factors: Brain development issues during pregnancy, such as genetic mutations, infections, or exposure to toxins.
Perinatal Factors: Complications during labor and delivery, including oxygen deprivation.
Postnatal Factors: Brain injuries or infections that occur after birth.Identifying the specific cause in an individual case can be challenging due to the interplay of genetic and environmental factors
The symptoms of cerebral palsy vary widely, as does the severity of the condition.
Common signs include impaired muscle coordination,
difficulty with fine motor skills,
and challenges with balance and posture.
Individuals with CP may also experience associated conditions like intellectual disabilities,
