Layout and Flow of Spaces
The ground floor follows a linear plan, thoughtfully divided into fluid, interconnected zones. Entry begins at a striking black-and-white checkerboard verandah, which sets a bold yet classic tone. This space leads seamlessly into an open meeting and collaborative work area, unified by a smooth concrete floor that enhances the sense of continuity.
A central spine organizes the space efficiently, housing work desks, a printer station, and an open pantry. This axis guides the user toward a dramatic, double-height lounge and workspace—anchored by a full-height bookshelf that doubles as both storage and sculptural feature. Warm wooden flooring in this area provides a tactile and visual contrast to the concrete, adding a sense of comfort and grounding.
An existing spiral staircase has been reimagined as a sculptural element, finished in a soft sage green to create a subtle focal point. This staircase ascends to a private mezzanine, designed as a discreet retreat for the client. It includes wardrobes, additional storage, and a powder room, offering functionality without interrupting the openness of the main space.
