*Indian Constitution has two handwritten copies, one in Hindi and the other in English. Both are preserved in helium-filled cases in the Parliament of India.
* "World's Longest Written Constitution". It has 448 articles in 25 parts and 12 schedules, right now which at the time of implementation had 395 articles in 22 parts and 8 schedules.
*Indonesian President Sukarno was the first Chief guest on the very first Republic Day parade of India.
*India had its first Republic Day parade at Rajpath in 1955 and the first chief guest of the Rajpath parade was Malik Gulam Mohammed, who was the first Governor-General of Pakistan.

Do not use single use polythene at all, to keep mother earth safe.
Conserve energy Do not misuse electricity.
Use a bicycle to travel short distances to control pollution.
To save land and water from getting polluted, start doing organic farming. Do not burn corn.
Minimize the use of sound amplifiers.
Build small dams for rainwater harvesting.
Instead of traditional sources of energy, coal, mineral oil, use alternative sources of solar energy etc.

The Indian Army was established in 1895 but it had not an Indian chief till the country got its independence from British rule. On 15 January 1949, General KM Cariappa became the first Indian to take charge of the Army. He took over the charge from General Francis Butcher, who was the last British commander of the national army. The historic day is celebrated with patriotic zeal at all Army Command Headquarters.

•The Indian Army is the 4th largest standing Army in the world after the US, Russia and China — with 3 million military personnel.

•The Gorkha regiment is one of the oldest regiments of the Indian Army and Adolf Hi**er once reportedly said, "If I had Gurkhas, no armies in the world would defeat me."

•The Army holds the record of handling the highest battlefield, Siachen Glacier, above 5000 meters from the mean sea level.

•The Indian Army also holds the record of accepting the world's largest military surrender. In the 1971 Indo-Pak war, India won the battle against Pakistan. The latter had to publicly surrender to India, and it is also known as the largest military surrender after World War II.
