Since most schools don’t have the space to spread students out in different classrooms, teachers and principals said the only way to implement the orders would be by staggering the attendance and calling half the class to school on any particular day.

This, they said, would add another layer of complication because classes would then have to be conducted in hybrid mode. “We have nearly 450 students, but only eight classrooms. This means we have to make arrangements for at least 50 students in each room. If we have to maintain distance, where is the space?” asked Shailini Sharma, the principal of Kasna Primary School in Dankaur.

The official orders issued by Noida Health Department stated that wearing face masks remains mandatory in offices, schools, colleges, hospitals, malls, cinema halls and public transport. Anyone who does not wear a mask will be denied access.

Dr Sunil Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, stated- “A rise in cases of Covid has been noted in the country, including parts of Uttar Pradesh. Keeping that and protection against the infection in mind, it is very important to follow these precautions and Covid protocol,” Chief Medical Officer Sunil Kumar Sharma, who issued the guidelines, said.

In a move aimed at centralising waste management, including its collection and processing, keeping an eye on the Swachh Survekshan, the Greater Noida Authority has decided to hire a private agency for door-to-door collection of waste in its in 95 sectors and 124 villages. Currently, garbage is collected from households only in some of the developed sectors in Greater Noida. The city generates 250-350 tonnes of municipal solid waste (MSW) every day.

“These two helplines are dedicated to Gautam Budh Nagar district and are separate from the national and state helplines that are already operational. The national cyber crime helpline is 1930 but 0120-4846100 will be solely for cyber crimes in Noida. The narcotics helpline will also be helpful for police as those who want to give information about the sale or consumption of drugs can directly inform us, without any fear of getting involved,” said commissioner Singh.
An assistant commissioner of police will head the helpline numbers which will run 24X7 from the commissioner’s office in Sector 108, police said.
