At Tech Mahindra Foundation, we believe that awareness and preparedness can help build safer communities. We recently conducted First Aid & CPR training sessions for support staff across Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools. The trainings were conducted at our In-Service Teacher Education Institutes (ITEIs) with support from faculty members of Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare, Delhi, covering all 12 zones.

Through these sessions, support staff members received hands-on exposure to essential lifesaving techniques, enabling them to respond effectively during emergencies. The sessions focused on practical demonstrations and experiential learning, helping participants build confidence in applying these skills when needed.

India's disability ecosystem faces a persistent resource gap. Although 10% of the country's registered non-profits (~62,556) work on disability, the sector receives only around 1% of CSR funding and public spending equivalent to 0.04% of GDP, resulting in funding constraints even among the most mature organisations.

Pacta's recent study titled ‘The Landscape of Funding for Disability in India’ takes a close look at the realities, gaps, and opportunities shaping disability inclusion in India.

Mr Carl-Henrik Hallström, Vice President - Strategic Programs at Tech Mahindra, recently visited the SUNAAD School for the Hearing Impaired, one of the ARISE+ Projects in .

Carl spent time with teachers and the team on the ground. For the past two years, Carl has been generously supporting students at the SUNAAD school through the initiative, helping create meaningful learning opportunities.

His visit was a wonderful moment of connection, interacting with students and the teachers, understanding their journeys, and witnessing firsthand the impact of the efforts in holistic development of children. We sincerely appreciate Carl’s time, commitment, and his continued support to the Foundation and its partner organisations.

What does twenty years of "Empowerment through Education" really look like?

It looks like Ankita, who became the first in her family to dream bigger. And like Riya, a person with disability navigating the world on her own terms, and supporting others like her. Also like Samreen, a student with hearing impairment who found her rhythm and confidence to truly engage with her learning process in school.

This week, Tech Mahindra Foundation turns 20. We have been part of these journeys supporting, and progressing with millions of lives in hundreds of communities across the country. Explore some of these stories and milestones on our newly launched microsite: https://20years.techmahindrafoundation.org/
