43 Years Since the Coronation of Taraka Rama Rao!

​Exactly 42 years ago on this very day, "Annagaru" took the oath as the Chief Minister, marking a turning point in history.
​January 9, 1983, was the day Telugu pride crossed all horizons. It was the day politics moved out of air-conditioned rooms and reached the doorsteps of the poor. It was the day the common man tasted dignity, and a new era of politics began in India. This was the day the rulers in Delhi felt the strength and fire of the Telugu people. It was a festival for the Telugu race—a day the land itself rejoiced.
​By ending 35 years of arrogance, this day laid the foundation for a "New Andhra." It was the day Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was crowned the leader of the Telugu land.
​A Man of the People
​As a man of the masses, the walls of Raj Bhavan felt too small for him. He wished to take his oath in the presence of the people at Lal Bahadur Stadium. In the history of the state, no Chief Minister before him had ever taken the oath outside of Raj Bhavan.
​On January 9th, LB Stadium was packed with a record-breaking crowd of over 2.5 lakh people. Thousands more waited outside, unable to get in. People traveled from every corner of the state by lorries, trains, and buses to witness this historic moment. The entire city of Hyderabad was soaked in a festive atmosphere.
​A Historic Moment
​The ceremony held a unique significance. K.C. Abraham, a Gandhian who was appointed Governor during the Janata Party rule, administered the oath to NTR—the state's first non-Congress Chief Minister. In a moment of immense pride, Ramarao Garu took the oath in Telugu.
​In his 30-minute inaugural speech, he reaffirmed his commitment to every promise made in the manifesto. He emphasized that his only desire in life was to serve the people.
​Power as a Responsibility, Not a Luxury
​Even after becoming Chief Minister, his lifestyle remained unchanged. There was no room for rest; his life was dedicated entirely to public welfare. For him, power was not a luxury but a profound responsibility. Discipline, conduct, and punctuality were his life principles, and they became the pillars of his administration.
​NTR famously declared that he would not take a salary. When government rules didn't allow for a zero-salary, he agreed to take a token salary of just one rupee per month. He refused to move into a grand official bungalow, stating his house in Abids was enough. He rejected luxury cars in favor of a simple Ambassador. He voluntarily gave up every luxury and perk associated with the Chief Minister's office.
​Today, we remember the legend who redefined leadership and restored the self-respect of the Telugu people.

​న్యూఢిల్లీ: థాయ్‌లాండ్ - కాంబోడియా సరిహద్దు వివాదంలో భాగంగా పురాతన నాగరికతకు ఆనవాలుగా ఉన్న విష్ణు విగ్రహాన్ని బుల్డోజర్లతో కూల్చివేయడంపై భారత్ తీవ్ర ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేసింది. ఈ చర్య ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న కోట్లాది మంది హిందూ భక్తుల మనోభావాలను గాయపరిచిందని భారత విదేశీ వ్యవహారాల మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ (MEA) స్పష్టం చేసింది.

​2014లో ప్రతిష్టించిన ఈ విష్ణు విగ్రహాన్ని థాయ్ సైనిక ఇంజనీర్లు బుల్డోజర్లతో నేలమట్టం చేస్తున్న దృశ్యాలు సోషల్ మీడియాలో కలకలం రేపాయి. ఈ వీడియోలు చూసిన నెటిజన్లు, ప్రపంచవ్యాప్త హిందూ సంఘాలు ఈ చర్యను తీవ్రంగా ఖండిస్తున్నాయి. అయితే, ఈ వివాదంపై థాయ్‌లాండ్ ప్రభుత్వం ఇప్పటివరకు అధికారికంగా స్పందించలేదు.

​మరోవైపు, కాంబోడియా ఈ ఘటనను తీవ్రంగా పరిగణించింది. తమ భూభాగంలోని 'అన్ సెస్' (An Ses) ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్న విగ్రహాన్ని థాయ్ సైన్యం అక్రమంగా ధ్వంసం చేసిందని కాంబోడియా ప్రతినిధి కిమ్ చన్పన్హా ఆరోపించారు.
