Gorakh Gayakwad, who earns livelihood for his family and himself by being a launderer, dreamt of a house of his own, ‘for-his-own’. His family is just one of the 25 lakhs urban families living in temporary structures and unhygienic conditions. Living in a 300 square feet space with tin shed over his head, he desired to give security of a place to his small and lovely family of five, a homemaker wife and two teenage daughters and a son. After much effort, he secured a loan from one of leading microfinance firm in the country. Still, the high cost of raw material and labour for construction made him choose between security and hygiene. But that is not how he wanted it to be. He wanted to give his family what collectively they can call a secure and warm place, they can call a home. Finally when decided to expand the house using tin shed, they came to know about Gruhaa.
