The Reserve Bank of India is considering a new update for UPI — but it’s not implemented yet.

What’s proposed?
UPI transactions above ₹10,000 may not be instant.
The amount will be debited immediately, but credited after up to 1 hour.

Why this change?
To reduce rising frauds and give users time to review or cancel transactions.

What stays the same?
Small payments, QR scans, and daily usage will remain instant.

For now, nothing changes — but this could make UPI safer going forward.
