Mountains play a vital role in sustaining life on Earth. They are responsible for the regulation of local climates, possess high species endemism and provide resources for its communities.
The theme for 2025’s World Mountain Day is centered around Glacial preservation (Glaciers matter for water, food and livelihoods in mountains and beyond), which aims to highlight the importance of these icy formations for agriculture, water security and livelihoods for its inhabitants.
works extensively with various mountain communities through eco-tourism to conserve (document, restore and preserve) local biodiversity.
