There was a woman whosurvived the sinking of the Titanic, and accidents on it's 2 sister ships!
Violet Constant Jessop has to be one of the luckies women in maritime history. She worked as an ocean liner stewardess and nurse. She survived thesinking of the RMS Titanic and the HMHSBritannic in 1912, and 1916. What's more, she also had been on board the RMS Olympic in 1911, when it almost sank after colliding with another ship.
Violet was on board the Titanic, working as a stewardess. When the ship hit the iceberg, she was ordered on deck, and eventually boarded a lifeboat. She was given a baby to look after, which was taken from her without a word a few hors later. While that story might seem boring, how she survived the sinking of the Britannic, is much more exciting.
The boat hit a mine in 1916, and begansinking. She was on board of a lifeboat, but it was in danger of being sucked into the Britannic's propellers. She had to jump and fight to avoid an almost fatal encounter with them. She was sucked underwater, but thankfully saved by another lifeboat.
