AudioTechnik India recently partnered with the Genelec team for a comprehensive 5.1 multichannel monitoring workshop at The Soundtrack Cafe, Pune. Led by Clifford Pereira and Arun Kumar from Genelec, and supported by Sanjay Chitroda, the session blended practical calibration, real-world listening, and the core principles behind accurate monitoring for professional workflows.

Clifford Pereira, Genelec’s Area Sales Manager for the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia brought over two decades of expertise. Based in Bandra, Bombay, Clifford began his Genelec journey in 2000 after working with CMM Ltd, and has since trained countless professionals in loudspeaker performance and room acoustics.

The workshop opened with a full room calibration using Genelec’s measurement mic and software, aligning levels, phase, timing, and bass management to create a solid reference. This was followed by deep insights into speaker placement and room interaction covering angles, distances, reflections, low-end buildup, and how room layout shapes monitoring accuracy.

A major highlight was Genelec’s research-driven engineering. Clifford demonstrated how advancements in cabinet design, drivers, DSP, and Smart Active Monitoring ensure consistent, reliable performance even in challenging acoustic spaces. A live demo using the S360A monitors with the 7380A sub showcased the clarity, depth, and detail a calibrated system can reveal.

Overall, the workshop offered a hands-on understanding of how monitoring systems behave in rooms and why proper setup matters. Design & Implementation
A distributed Bose Professional system ensures reliability, clarity, and balance. Loudspeakers and subwoofers were tuned for controlled bass and even SPL. Amplification via Bose power amps and system tuning through Marani Audio DSP provided limiter protection, EQ control, and phase alignment across all zones.
