Top Tip: Running XP? Problems with Internet Explorer? If you're using XP, you're still stuck with IE8, since IE9 is only available for Windows 7 and Vista systems. But, after installing the latest fixes from Microsoft you may find that IE8 no longer starts up. Stories are cropping up all over the Internet reporting a strange problem, whereby the latest Windows updates seem to 'break' IE8. The problem seems to be related to the iertutil.dll file, which goes missing from the system after the updates are applied. According to Microsoft, the problem is only affecting a small number of users, and their engineering team is looking into the details. But that isn't much help if you can't get your browser to work.
