Strong animal welfare doesn’t happen by chance. It happens when systems work.
Over the past few years, we’ve partnered with government departments across West Bengal to strengthen animal welfare systems at the district level, improving coordination, building capacity, and supporting more effective responses for animals in need.
While much of this work happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt every day. Stronger institutions, clearer processes, and greater accountability help ensure that animal welfare is not dependent on individual action alone, but embedded within the system.
That’s the power of advocacy: building systems that continue to protect animals long into the future.

: Horseshoe crabs have survived on Earth for over million years, with their ancestors outliving dinosaurs and enduring multiple mass extinctions. Today, one of their greatest threats comes from us.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Animal-free alternatives can help reduce our reliance on horseshoe crabs in medical testing. That’s why we’re working to advance a roadmap for the adoption of these methods in India, while supporting innovative Made-in-India technologies that can deliver safer, more cost-effective, and sustainable science for both people and animals.
Because saving lives shouldn’t cost theirs.

Wild animals are not products, props or entertainment.
From ‘cute’ viral videos to exotic pets, tourist attractions, animal performances and products made from their bodies - wild animals are often commodified in ways we don’t even realize.
Every purchase, ticket, click and share can create demand. And where there’s demand, exploitation often follows. By making mindful choices, we can help protect wildlife and break the cycle of exploitation.

🌧️⚡️🌪️ Every year, when disaster strikes, a family somewhere is forced to make an impossible choice - to leave their pets or companion animals behind. Not because they don’t care, but because they lack the knowledge or means to protect them. And no one should have to face that.
We’re working to change this - ensuring communities are better prepared to face disasters without leaving anyone behind, including animals. What once felt impossible is now becoming part of how communities prepare.
Because true resilience means protecting every life, including animals.
