Day 2 of the preliminary workshop.
The vagabonds have set sail. Storms rule the nights. "To live and die on this day, to live and die on this day". We have joined arms with our alma mater, LIghts Off productions on our next project. A trilogy of plays. Here's a peek into the workshop, 25 actors, 3 days, 2 facilitators, 1 full house of madness! And there, it shall begin!

'My dreams are crimson' is a story of homelessness, especially urbane un-rootedness. Devised and performed by the team of Koryfae, it explores the chaos, romance and loneliness of people who live their lives in extreme contrast. Between small joys and a platter of storms.

The exploration began with a simple question- What's urban poverty? Is it about not having money?
Or are there some darker demons down that rabbit hole we're not willing to summon.

What's touch? What's love? What's hunger?
What do I believe in? Where am I going?
Am I a vagabond? Am I am anarchist?
Sita is suddenly more popular than Rama.
Am I leftist? Do I hate men?
Why is Charlie Chaplin so fascinating even today?
How is that grandmother in Palestine able to smile, even through hell?
I'm feeling breathless.
Can I even wonder what that boy was going through when his school was bombed?
Don't touch me! Why's everything sexual?
Why am I feeling breathless again?
I think I like it.

Curiosity is everything right? Or was it obsession?

This seems to be the story of everyone today, trying hard to fathom or even exist in a space where rapid shift in cultural or human existential understanding has paved way to many strong, unified voices while many more are scratching by the door, breathless, lonely, flailing and falling, trying to change their skin or even tear it away. It's still under construction. In fact, it may have only begun.

Trapped in the noise of urban chaos, the play traverses through themes of morality, romance, sexuality to try and embody stories emerging whilst in Mumbai and Goa, one city who's chaotic cries are heard world over, and another, quaint and quiet, which many vagabonds/outliers find refuge in.

Drawing from personal experience and research, the team of Koryfae is currently devising the play in Goa with a team of 5 actors and many specialists who have joined the force, hoping to find through it both, lullabies and conversations emerging in present day India.

The play will start premiering in June 2019, across India.
