Simplicity in the new luxury!
The most powerful posture I have experienced is that I keep going back to this posture, and every time, it takes me to a deeper state of peace and calm.
Have you ever wondered that since childhood, we have been practicing this posture at temples, gurudwara's, mosques, etc. and what were we gaining by doing so?
SURRENDER, easier said than done. Letting go of the Ahamkara/ ego. We are living in a world where instant gratification is all that we are craving for. Each one of us is under this impression that things can't function without me. Then life intervenes and says a big HELLO (pain/ hurt/failures/betrayal) and gives us reminders to reflect , slow down, and value every breath, moment, person, or relationship.
Observations during practice :
This asana silences the frontal lobe.
(The frontal lobe, located at the front of the brain, plays a crucial role in higher-level cognitive functions like planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and controlling voluntary movements, as well as influencing personality and emotional regulation).
P.S: If you're always in a hurry or worried or have no moments when the mind can be quiet, give this posture a try everyday for few minutes.
you would need a cushion under your ankles if your not trained to siyt in vajrasana(sit on your ankles).
