Designed for a couple who genuinely loves to cook, the kitchen at Nishlin was conceived as a space where functionality takes precedence over everything else. Every element was carefully considered and meticulously planned to support the rituals of daily cooking, hosting, and experimentation.
Long before the cabinetry was fabricated, we spent considerable time detailing the elevations, mapping out exactly what would live where. From cookware and utensils to a wide collection of international ingredients, every shelf and cabinet was designed with a specific purpose in mind, allowing the kitchen to remain organised, intuitive, and effortless to use.
The material palette was intentionally restrained, with neutral tones creating a calm backdrop that keeps the focus on utility and everyday use rather than visual distraction.
One of our favourite details, however, lies beneath your feet. The flooring features a custom-designed pattern that became a project within the project. The entire floor was stripped and done twice to achieve the desired outcome. Each tile was individually selected, custom-cut, and laid according to a precise composition. Achieving the pattern required exceptional craftsmanship, with careful attention to cutting, levelling, alignment, and installation.
It’s the kind of detail that may not immediately announce itself, but rewards closer observation. Swipe through these images to have a closer look.

The Living Room at Nishlin
The living room was envisioned as a space that dissolves the boundary between indoors and outdoors. From the moment one enters the home, the eye is able to travel the full length of the room uninterrupted; a deliberate decision to keep the space visually light, open and breathable.
With a lush green landscape just beyond the windows, the design sought to make nature an active participant in everyday life. The curtains behave as soft, airy shears that behave almost like wisps, present enough to temper harsh sunlight when required, yet light enough to never feel like a barrier between the home and its surroundings.
The furniture follows the same philosophy. Low, grounded and uncomplicated in form, each piece was chosen to preserve openness and maintain clear sightlines across the room.
The tables, sofas and surfaces were conceived not only for the two-legged occupants, but also for the four-legged ones. Their proportions, durability and materiality allow the cats to climb, perch, explore and become active participants in the life of the room.
