It may seem like those on the opposite sides of a heated argument — whether it's at work, among family, or in the realm of politics — will never see eye to eye. But there's more room for conversation than we often realize, according to recent research from Harvard. It largely comes down to conveying "conversational receptiveness," the sense that you are truly listening and trying to understand what the other person is saying. When we feel like someone we disagree with is receptive to our points, we become far more willing to extend the same courtesy in return and to collaborate with opponents.
