It was an honour to be invited by the Department of Social Welfare (Jammu & Kashmir) to hold a training on the identification and prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). The participants included district level school teachers and heads of institutes. Rubaroo's Programme Head for Mental Health, Priya Vaidya, helped the participants to build knowledge on the subject of CSA as well as on the long term mental health impacts on children and survivors. The work shop also focussed on building empathy within teachers to enable them to help children seek redressal. The session was very well received and we look forward to holding more trainings in the future to equip teachers and school staff with the right skill, to be sensitised and to be empowered first responders to children in distress.
