House with a Secret Garden, Bengaluru, Karnataka

More than an outdoor space, the garden is the organising element of the home, shaping its spatial experience, environmental comfort, and everyday life. Positioned along the eastern edge, it draws in abundant daylight, promotes natural ventilation, and visually extends into the neighbouring greenery, making the compact site feel remarkably expansive. Every principal room is oriented towards this lush heart, ensuring a constant connection with nature across all levels. Hidden from the street yet ever-present within the home, the garden becomes a quiet sanctuary that brings calm, privacy, and a timeless sense of belonging to urban living.

Light and greenery become quiet protagonists in the film of The Layered House of Light, set within Urbana NRI Complex. As the camera moves through its layered volumes, soft northern light washes surfaces while framed greens punctuate every pause. The triple-height core glows, terraces breathe, and shadows shift gently across textures. This interplay transforms the home into a cinematic experience, where architecture is not just seen, but felt through atmosphere, rhythm, and the seamless dialogue between built form and nature.
