On the 19th of Ramadan, the world was shaken when Imam Ali, the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, was struck with a poisoned sword while leading Fajr prayer in the mosque of Great Mosque of Kufa by Abd al-Rahman ibn Muljam.

Two days later, on 21st Ramadan, the Lion of Allah embraced martyrdom.

He was the symbol of justice, courage, knowledge, and humility.
His life taught the world that leadership means serving humanity and standing for truth.

“Fuztu wa Rabbil Kaaba” — By the Lord of the Kaaba, I have succeeded.

Today we remember the martyrdom of the first Imam and renew our commitment to the path of justice he lived and died for.

19th of Ramadan — the dawn when justice was struck.

During the Fajr prayer in the Mosque of Kufa,
Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS), the Commander of the Faithful,
was attacked by Abd al-Rahman ibn Muljam with a poisoned sword.

From the 19th to the 21st of Ramadan,
Imam Ali (AS) endured the pain of his wounds
until he attained martyrdom.

Peace be upon the Lion of Allah.
