"Maati ka bartan hai pyaare maati me mil jana hai"

The fears of मौनी अमावस्या had been in my mind for a long time. Yet, something inside me kept pushing—should I go witness the बसंत पंचमी शाही स्नान? Would I return, or would my soul finally be free? So many thoughts clashed in my head, but in that confusion, I found my answer. I took the leap.

I grabbed my camera, removed my shoes, and walked forward, barefoot on the sacred land, chanting "हर हर महादेव!"—not just as words, but as a way of surrendering to something bigger than myself. And now, here I am, writing this, after finally witnessing a moment I had dreamed of for the past three कुंभ मेलas.

The air was full of energy yet so peaceful. The chants, the drumbeats, the devotion—everything felt alive, as if time itself had stopped. At that moment, faith was not just a belief but something I could feel.

Destiny took me to the पंचायती निरंजनी अखाड़ा, where I met श्री श्री १००८ दिगम्बर खुशाल भारती जी महाराज. His presence was so powerful that without him, I might not have truly felt the Kumbh. As I watched the saints take their holy dip in the अमृत during ब्रह्ममूर्त, I understood—this was not just water, not just a ritual. It was something beyond the body and mind, a moment where the self dissolves into the eternal.

One more item checked off the bucket list—
But more than that, a step closer to understanding what it means to let go.
