MQ6 Gas sensor is a Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) type Gas Sensor mainly used to detect the LPG and Butane gas concentration in the air either at home or in industry. This sensor contains a sensing element, mainly aluminum-oxide based ceramic, coated with Tin dioxide, enclosed in a stainless-steel mesh.

Principal: These sensors are made up of electrode which is coated with a sensing material, and it is heated to make it more reactive and sensitive. When the gas reacts with these electrodes, its resistance changes, more the gas, less is the resistance and vice-versa.

What is the function of the Gas Sensor?
Gas sensors are devices that help us understand the amount of gas in the environment and the natural state of its movement. Gas sensors reveal the amount of gas in the environment and the nature of the gas composition with electrical signals and can provide its change.
