The Chikoo Tree story. The chikoo tree(sapota mare in Kannada) in the above pics was the inspiration behind the name. Welcoming everyone with wide open arms, this majestic tree stands at the entrance of our ancestral home in Mysore.We would set up picnics under the shade of this enormous and bountiful tree and our family has savoured many delicacies prepared by my Ajji, mom and aunts here. And of course, the best chikoos I have ever eaten!
A library with about 10,000 books was another gathering place at home for the entire family in the evenings. Lot of singing and chatting before dinner.

Many elements of our decor and our menu are inspired by these fond childhood memories.
