Myth: You must start with bland rice cereals or other foods.

Fact: Did you know that babies have more tastebuds than us? They want flavor just like us!

Cooking with herbs and spices is a great way to help babies explore more flavors and expand their palate.

🥣Adding a pinch of spices and herbs initially can build a strong foundation and ease the transition to family meals. They will be more open and willing to accept and transition to family meals.

🧂If buying spices and herbs, do check the sodium content and purchase unsalted ones

🌶Indian foods are spicy and exposing your child to such early can help the easy transition by the time they are one year old. Start small and increase over time following the baby's cues on how he/she is handling the intensity

🥕You can combine steamed vegies or baked vegies with basil, garlic, olive oil, jeera, coriander.

🥔Toss steamed veggies like carrots and potatoes or beets and pumpkin in ghee or unsalted butter while adding any spice you prefer

🍎🍌Fruits such as apples and bananas can have cinnamon sprinkled over

🍲Oats and rice pudding can have cardamom
