Today is "INTERNATIONAL MID WIVES DAY" 💐💐
Every year on May 5th, the International Day of the Midwife takes place. While you’d think it was an incredibly long-marked awareness day, it wasn’t made official until 1992.
When it was launched formally by the International Confederation of Midwives. Themes for the day have included healthy families, newborn babies, partnerships between midwives and mothers, and leading the way with quality care.
According to the World Health Organisation, "Midwives are essential to the provision of quality of care, in all settings, globally." A midwife is a trained professional who give proper care to pregnant mothers and helps them during labour delivery.
