▪In Bengaluru, a woman allegedly sought poison pills from a doctor to kill her mother-in-law. The incident came to light when she contacted Dr. Sunil Kumar Hebbi via WhatsApp and asked for pills that could cause her mother-in-law’s death.

▪Frustrated by ongoing conflicts with her mother-in-law, the woman reportedly planned to murder her. She texted Dr. Sunil Kumar on WhatsApp, stating that her mother-in-law caused her a lot of distress. She inquired whether consuming a few pills would be enough to kill her.

▪Dr. Sunil Kumar tried to counsel the woman, warning her that such actions were both morally and legally wrong. Despite his firm refusal, Sahana persisted, repeatedly pleading with him to simply message the names of the tablets. As soon as he realized the gravity of the situation, he took screenshots of the WhatsApp messages before the woman deleted the chat and blocked his number.

▪Dr. Sunil Kumar then reported the incident to the Sanjaynagar police. Following the complaint, the police began an investigation and later identified Sahana, summoning her for questioning.

▪When she appeared at the police station with her husband, she changed her statement, claiming that she intended to take her own life rather than harm her mother-in-law.
