Posted • Poetry as a collection of ideas resonates the deepest thoughts that form the life and fragment of human beings. This holds true when readers observe few words conveying far more than they appear to convey on the surface level. In this light, Yogesh Mohan Dixit takes the readers in a different world when he shares his collection of thoughts through verse in “Hriday Dhvani.” It is interesting to observe how he uses the prose technique of stream of consciousness to paint his thoughts and create a world that is far beyond the ordinary.
The fact that words are not just meaningless but carry far more depth is conveyed by the separate collection of “Namak” poems where the poet has kept one title but written multiple poems bearing different impressions. This also shows that one word can convey and carry multiple meanings for different people based on their perspectives.
The initial poems set the tone for the rest of the collection, as it is an expression of the poet’s state of mind at that moment, which is one of confusion and uncertainty. They capture the essence of the collection, which is an exploration of the poet’s innermost thoughts and emotions, without any particular structure or theme. The poems in the collection are not meant to be read as individual pieces, but rather as a whole, as they are a reflection of the poet’s journey through life.
One of the striking features of the collection is the use of vivid imagery and metaphors. The poet has a way of describing even the most mundane things in a way that makes them seem magical. The use of metaphors and imagery throughout the collection is a testament to the poet’s skill as a wordsmith. It is clear that he has a deep appreciation for the power of language to evoke emotions and convey meaning.
One of the things that stood out to me about “Hriday Dhvani” was the poet’s use of language. The collection is written in Hindi, and the poet has a way of using the language that is both poetic and accessible. This is a testament to the poet’s skill as a writer, as he is able to convey complex emotions and ideas using simple language.
