Strengthening communities through awareness and dialogue!

GyanSetu, in collaboration with Suraksha counsellors, organised two community meetings in Sikandarpur and Khurkhundapur, engaging 54 women in meaningful conversations around issues that deeply impact their lives.

The sessions focused on understanding domestic violence in its various forms, building awareness of women’s rights, and addressing the growing concerns around cyber crime. These discussions created a safe space for women to share their experiences, ask questions, and seek guidance.

By fostering open dialogue and connecting women to support systems, these meetings are an important step towards building informed, resilient communities where women feel empowered to recognise, resist, and respond to violence. 🌱

Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) launches “S*x, Relationships, and Society: Comprehensive S*xuality Education Curriculum.”

Education must prepare every young person to live with dignity and empathy. In line with the National Education Policy 2020, SHEF’s new S*x, Relationships, and Society curriculum marks a significant step toward transforming how schools approach sexuality education — from silence and stigma to dialogue and empowerment.

Comprehensive, age-appropriate sexuality education is essential for the holistic development of young people. The curriculum draws on years of research, student consultations, and pilot testing across SHEF’s network of schools.

It adopts a whole-person, rights-based approach that integrates knowledge, values, and critical thinking — helping students understand themselves, navigate relationships, and build a world rooted in care, respect, and equality.

Each curriculum set is accompanied by teacher training and mentoring, including a full-day workshop, follow-up sessions, and a year-long support program to help schools implement it effectively and meaningfully.

This International Day of the Girl Child, we celebrate the transformative power of education. Education does more than teach, it empowers girls to dream, build confidence, raise their voices, and challenge discriminatory structures.

At SHEF, we focus on developing girls’ capacity to act as agents of change in their own lives and communities. Through education, girls gain the skills, self-esteem, and agency to claim their rights, rise above social barriers, and shape a future of equality and opportunity.

Together, we envision a world where every girl can realize her potential, lead with confidence, and create lasting change for herself and her community.
