BitLocker is a security feature built into Microsoft Windows that provides full-disk encryption.

Before You Start: Requirements

Windows Edition: You must be on Windows 10/11 Pro, Enterprise, or Education. (Windows Home only has a lighter version called "Device Encryption").

TPM Chip: Your computer needs a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip. Your 12th Gen Intel Core i5 laptop definitely has this.

Step-by-Step: How to Enable BitLocker

Step 1: Open BitLocker Settings

Step 2: Turn ON Bitlocker
Create Strong Password 🔑

Step 3: Back Up Your Recovery Key (CRITICAL)

Warning: Never store your Recovery Key on the laptop itself. If the laptop locks, you won't be able to reach the file! Keep it in your Microsoft Account or External Store like USB and others.

Step 4: Choose Encryption Settings
1) Choose how much of your drive to encrypt:

Encrypt used disk space only: Faster, best for new PCs (like your fresh Windows 11 install).

Encrypt entire drive: Slower but more secure, best for older PCs with lots of existing data.

2) Choose encryption mode:
Select New encryption mode (best for fixed drives inside the laptop).

Click Next . Applyed
Restart your computer.
