A hardy, high egg-laying, free-range duck that has been part of our rural ecosystem for generations. But like many indigenous breeds, it is slowly disappearing as commercial hybrid breeds take over.

We have started working on preserving and promoting the Nageshwari duck through scientific rearing and integrated farming models like Duck + Fish + Azolla farming. This model reduces feed cost, increases farm income, and at the same time helps in conserving an indigenous breed that is perfectly adapted to our local climate and resources.

For us, sustainability is not a big word.
Sustainability means using local breeds, local feed resources, and building a farming system where farmers profit and nature is also protected.

Maybe the future of sustainable poultry farming is not in imported breeds and expensive feed —
maybe the future is already there in our villages, in our ponds, in our indigenous breeds.

We just need to recognize it, preserve it, and build a system around it.
