For the last one year, the walls of Travelistan have been made alive by a series of photographs by our dear friend Sarbajit Ghosh. An avid bird-watcher, nature-lover, animal-rescuer and educator, Sarbajit’s tryst with camera, nature and wildlife goes long, very long back, so long that probably he wouldn’t be able to pinpoint when it all started!!! As a photographer, his approach is more towards following his subjects through his lens than just capturing them within the frame, so that a story can be told. “Whenever I see an animal or bird, what intrigues me the most is its lifestyle, I try to learn about it, and through my camera I try to recreate its world, to create a photo-story, or a photo-documentary”, says Sarbajit, discussing his process. And when you see these photos on our walls, these stories are unmissable, they seem alive!!! But as all good things also come to an end, these photos are also leaving our walls very soon, on August 15th. “One of the main reasons for my work is awareness, to show you what I saw, and if that can evoke any different feeling within you, or to know what you felt watching them, so that I can also get some fresh perspectives”, appeals Sarbajit.
