Fluorescence Guided Surgery using Indocyanine Green in early Oral cancer( tongue)----- our initial tryst with few cases@CNCI Kolkata.
Sentinel Lymphnode Navigation surgery reduces morbidity associated with neck dissections.The advantages of ICG fluorescence imaging include access to real-time intraoperative visual information.
We Inject small amount of the dye(ICG) around the oral malignant lesion and then after few minutes we use a hand held probe to detect the sentinel nodes in the neck which lights up as bright specs in the operative field, subsequently we make a limited incision and send the nodes for intraoperative Frozen biopsy . For standardizing the method at our institute we are in the process of collecting data for initial few cases in coming months .
