Some colleges track it closely. Others don't consider it at all. Knowing which is which saves you from wasting energy on actions that won't matter.

Colleges that track demonstrated interest are mostly private universities and smaller institutions. Large public schools and highly selective universities (Ivies, MIT, Stanford) generally don't.

1. Attending virtual info sessions or webinars (admissions logs attendance).
2. Responding quickly to interview requests.
3. Opening emails from admissions (many colleges track engagement).
4. Visiting campus if you're local and haven't already (make sure to register the visit).

Students should redirect energy away from excessive outreach and toward maintaining academic performance and managing the waiting period constructively.
