On this International Literacy Day, let us take a look at some of the brands that are doing their best to close the global literacy gap.
> Microsoft started its YouthSpark program in 2012, which was mainly designed to create economic and educational opportunities for children. Till now, it has served 227 million young people.
>The primary education program by ITC has benefitted over 869,200 children and aims to create enabling conditions so that more underprivileged children stay in school and complete their schooling.
>The literacy initiative by Tata Hitachi involves identifying schools in its operational areas around its plants that cater to the underprivileged section of society. Children from these schools are then provided with merit cm need basis scholarships.
Let us take a moment on this day to rethink the fundamental importance of literacy and work towards building an exclusive learning environment for all.
