Report to law commission on Uniform Civil Code

Within the territory of a nation for all the citizens need to have a common law to govern. In the constitution of India Part V of the article 44 permits to secure Uniform Civil Code for the citizens within the territory of Union of India. It is to ensure one law applicable for the territory of India to all religious communities in case of such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, adoption, condition of Indian law relating to crime, evidence and contracts ie personal laws. It will address the discrimination against vulnerable groups and harmonise diverse cultural groups within the one geographical boundary which is the need of the hour. It is necessary to stop religious atrocities against women. It would protect women's and children's right. It is necessary to strengthen India's secular value to promote national unity among the citizens regardless of their religion, ethnic or caste backgrounds. Uniform Civil Code will bring a new social order of harmony among all the communities of the country. I thank Dr. B. R. Ambedkar who favored of uniformity of laws put article 44 in the constitution.
