Blessing him with a tough exterior and soft interior, the True Gurus transformed a meek, quivering slave into a roaring lion - the Sikh (Shishya). Today, the Sikh stands as a symbol of fearlessness, trustworthiness and patriotism. This is what Guru-Shishya Prampara, exemplified by Sikhism, can do.

When this bond is strong, the communication between the teacher and student becomes smooth and lightening fast. And the bond is strengthened when the student is truly respectful to the teacher.
On the other hand, addressing the teachers, he urged the teachers to prove worthy of the high pedestal of love and respect. They should constantly enrich their knowledge and sharpen their teacher prowess and also teach by self-example, as the students tend to look upon their favourite teacher as a role-model.
