There comes a day when you stop looking at your mother as just your mother… and start seeing the woman she had to become before she became yours.

My mumma comes from a small village, but I’ve never seen her think small.

She has always carried herself with quiet confidence. And every time she shares stories from her younger days, I realise that confidence wasn’t inherited—it was earned. Through struggles, sacrifices, hard work, and an unwavering determination to become the best version of herself.

Even today, convincing her to step out of the comfort of home takes a little effort. Home has always been her favourite place. But ever since I got married, I’ve made it a point to take her on at least one trip every year.

Not because she asks for it.
But because I do.

To spend uninterrupted time with her.
To listen to stories I’ve heard before.
To observe the little things that often go unnoticed.
To silently love the woman who spent her life making everyone else feel loved.

And now, watching her love Krishwi with the same warmth she once gave me fills my heart in ways I can’t put into words.

Maybe that’s why they say, “Maawan thandiyan chhawan.” ❤️

A mother’s love doesn’t just shelter you.
It becomes the shade under which generations continue to bloom.

Mumma,

You always used to say, “Maa banegi tab pata chalega ki Maa kya hoti hai.”

And today, I can honestly say—you were absolutely right.

It was only after becoming a mother myself that I truly began to understand the countless things you did for me so effortlessly and silently. The sleepless nights, the endless worrying, the sacrifices you never spoke about, and the love you gave without ever expecting anything in return.

What amazes me even more is that your care didn’t stop when I got married or became a mother myself. No matter how old a child gets, a mother’s love, warmth, concern, and presence remain constant and irreplaceable.

Celebrating your birthday yesterday made me pause and reflect on just how blessed I am to have you in my life. I often take comfort in knowing that no matter what life brings, there is always one person whose love remains unwavering—and that’s you.

Thank you for being my safe place, my biggest support, and my greatest blessing.

I can’t thank God enough for choosing you to be my mother and for filling my life with so much unconditional love.
