Placed within the serene interiors of jobnerbagh, this antique Persian rug from the 1940s in a cola brown field is animated with bright yellow geometric forms, arranged in a bold central square that radiates through layered frames of diamonds and linear motifs. This treasure from the Jaipur Rugs collection brings warmth and quiet structure to the room. Designed by Italian architect Paola Giacomini, the home reflects a refined dialogue between Jaipur Art Deco influences and timeless European restraint.

In this restful bedroom, the rug introduces pattern and tactility beneath the bed, anchoring the space while adding depth to the otherwise minimal palette. Its composition creates a gentle rhythm across the floor, drawing the eye inward and softening the architectural lines.

The carpet grounds the room with understated elegance, a reminder that the right rug can quietly transform how a space feels.

Sometimes the calmest rooms are built from the ground up.

Seen against the graceful façade of , this soft gold and light peach rug becomes a striking visual counterpoint to the home’s architectural language. The residence, owned by Mr. Shiva Gujar, is a discreet yet remarkable example of Jaipur Art Deco architecture hidden within the city.

Placed within this setting, the rug introduces texture and craft beneath the furniture, bringing warmth and intimacy to the open courtyard environment. Its pattern and palette create a visual anchor within the airy architectural composition.

The carpet defines the space with quiet authority.

Because sometimes a single piece underfoot completes the architecture around it.

The Kamala House Carpet by BV Doshi spanned the square living space at the architect’s personal home in Ahmedabad. It is seen here in-situ, in front of the famous artwork by MF Husain - who the architect had collaborated on the experimental building Gufa - and who extended his painting beyond the canvas, painting lines directly on the wall of the house. A re-edition of BV Doshi’s carpet is offered by Aspura, the gallery for collectible carpets from Jaipur Rugs.
