हम ऐसे युग में जी रहे हैं जहाँ हर व्यक्ति के पास मत है, परंतु बहुत कम लोगों के पास मौन है। सोशल मीडिया ने अभिव्यक्ति को लोकतांत्रिक बनाया, जो अपने आप में महत्वपूर्ण था, परंतु इसके साथ हर विषय पर प्रतिक्रिया देने का दबाव भी आया। अब अनुभव से अधिक प्रतिक्रिया महत्वपूर्ण हो गई है। किसी घटना के घटित होने और उस पर मत व्यक्त करने के बीच का अंतराल लगभग समाप्त हो चुका है। व्यक्ति पहले अनुभव नहीं करता, पहले प्रतिक्रिया देता है। इस निरंतर प्रतिक्रिया ने हमारी चेतना को बाहर की ओर इतना व्यस्त कर दिया है कि भीतर की सूक्ष्मता धीरे-धीरे धुंधली पड़ने लगी है। मौन इसी खोई हुई सूक्ष्मता की वापसी है। स्वदेश ज्योति में आध्यात्मिकता पर मेरा साप्ताहिक आलेख

This is what I highlighted in my inaugural speech as the Chief Guest at AIM Sumvaad organised at Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology.
