AMPA Mourns a Respected Voice 🕊️ Manipur bids farewell to Chirom Jadumani, the veteran ISTV News anchor, who passed away early yesterday morning after a prolonged illness.

He provided exceptional support to our Physiotherapy profession and served as an erudite anchor on the topic of Physiotherapy's role in Arthritis, alongside our experts Dr. Oinam Nabachandra PT and Dr. Arina Chungkham PT, during a discussion on Doctors Time ISCOM TV Channel on 14th October 2022.

Renowned for his calm demeanor, eloquent delivery, and deep commitment to journalism, Jadumani was a trusted face in Manipur’s media landscape. His decades of service shaped local broadcast journalism and inspired countless young reporters.

We demand justice for the heinous murder of Dr. Angom Rita Devi, a tragic incident that has shaken our community.

Dr. Angom Ningol Ashem Ongbi Rita Devi was found deceased under suspicious circumstances at her Yaiskul Chingakham Leirak residence in Imphal West district on Monday evening, 13 October 2025.
As the former founder President of the All Manipur Physiotherapist Association (AMPA) Manipur,

She was a retired senior Physiotherapist at RIMS Imphal West Manipur and an exemplary individual renowned for her compassion and courage.
This egregious act has eroded our faith in humanity, and we strongly condemn her brutal killing.

We express profound sorrow and outrage over the killing of a highly respected and humble lady.
We appeal to the higher authorities to ensure that justice prevails at the earliest.

Physiotherapists / Physical Therapists will now become (Doctor ) DR.PT'.- Government nod to official recognition.

The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) has recommended that physiotherapists can use the "Dr." prefix with their names, along with the "PT" suffix, to denote their profession. This was announced on April 23, 2025, and aligns with international recognition of physiotherapists as doctoral-level practitioners.
