Petrol and diesel prices were increased by around ₹3 per litre across India on Friday due to rising global crude oil prices linked to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, according to PTI.

In Delhi, petrol prices rose from ₹94.77 to ₹97.77 per litre, while diesel increased from ₹87.67 to ₹90.67 per litre. Other metro cities also witnessed significant hikes. Petrol prices reached ₹108.74 per litre in Kolkata, ₹106.68 in Mumbai, and ₹103.67 in Chennai. Diesel prices climbed to ₹95.13 in Kolkata, ₹93.14 in Mumbai, and ₹95.25 in Chennai.

The increase comes after India had previously avoided major retail fuel price revisions despite global crude oil volatility. The latest hike reflects mounting pressure from international oil markets and geopolitical tensions affecting energy supplies.
