Today, the 13th June, 2026, Herbert School, Imphal organized an Orientation Programme for Class XI SSP students with the objective of acquainting them with the NEET(UG) and JEE(Main) and guiding them in their preparation for these highly Competitive Entrance Tests. The Programme began with welcome address and a brief introduction about the NEET(UG) and JEE(Main) by Madam Ngangbisana, Chemistry Lecturer.
Sir Kishan, Physics Lecturer spoke on the preparation strategies required for success in these competitive examinations. He emphasized the importance of conceptual understanding rather than relying on rote learning particularly in physics. He advised students to develop analytical and problem solving skills through regular practice and systematic study.
Sir kumud, Biology Lecturer elaborated on the various test series to be conducted by Allen Carrer Institute. He explained the importance of appearing multiple test series as they help students assess their level of preparation and improve their performance and gain confidence in facing competitive examinations.
The next Speaker, Madam Romita, Chemistry Lecturer mainly focused on developing effective study techniques and proper time management. She advised students to maintain consistency in their study and revise regularly.
The last speaker, Sir Dhaneshwar , HOD of Mathematics primarily focused on JEE(Main) and the strategies required for effective preparation. He stressed the importance developing a strong conceptual understanding of the subjects and enhancing problem solving skills through regular practice.
The students attended the programme with keen interest and listened actively to the valuable guidance and insights shared by the teachers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the speakers and students for making the programme successful.

Yellow House Conducts First Combined House Assembly for Classes XI & XII
The first combined House Assembly of Classes XI and XII of Herbert School for the academic session 2026–27 was conducted by Yellow House today. The assembly commenced with various informative and engaging activities, including the Thought of the Day, News reading and a Speech on World Environment Day, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
A special highlight of the assembly was the felicitation of the Gold Medal winners of the SOF Olympiads conducted during the academic session 2025–26. The medals were presented by the Principal and the Academic Coordinator. A total of 25 students were awarded the Gold Medal of Excellence for their outstanding performance in various Olympiad examinations.
The programme concluded with a short and inspiring address by the Principal, who congratulated the medal winners and encouraged all students to continue striving for academic excellence while actively participating in co-curricular activities.

An Induction Programme for the newly admitted Class XI students of the SSP Group at Herbert School, Imphal, along with their parents, was successfully organised on 19th May 2026 at the school auditorium. The programme was conducted in two sessions. The first session, meant exclusively for girl students, commenced at 9:30 a.m., while the second session for boy students began at 12:20 p.m. Both sessions were hosted by Madam Chitanbala, Lecturer in English.

During both sessions, Shri K. Tiken Singh, Principal of the school, extended a warm welcome to the teachers, students, and parents. In his keynote address, he highlighted the guiding principles and core values cherished by the school, namely nurturing academically excellent, hardworking, and disciplined students. He advised the students to remain sincere in their studies, maintain discipline, and put in consistent efforts to achieve success in their academic pursuits. He also appealed to the parents to closely monitor and guide their wards in their daily routine, study habits, and activities outside school hours. He emphasised the importance of close cooperation between parents and the school in shaping the future of the students.

Following the Principal’s address, Sir Boboy, Head of the Department of Biology, elaborated on the SSP Programme of the school. He emphasised the importance of NEET (UG) for admission into medical and allied courses and highlighted the wide range of career opportunities available after completing medical studies. He also explained the significance of JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced), elaborating on the different pathways for securing admission into IITs and NITs, along with their future career prospects.

The next speaker, Sir Dhanachandra, Head of the Department of Physics, focused mainly on the subjects to be offered to students of the NEET and JEE groups. He also explained the two compulsory language subjects and clarified the categories of students who could opt for Manipuri or Alternative English.

Thereafter, Sir Dhaneshor, Head of the Department of Mathematics, highlighted the series of Allen Tests to be undertaken by the SSP students of the NEET and JEE groups. He also explained the examinations to be conducted by the school, the minimum pass marks required, and the tentative schedule of examinations.

The next speaker was Madam Romita, Head of the Department of English, who highlighted the school rules and regulations to be strictly adhered to by the students. She laid emphasis on discipline, particularly maintaining proper short haircuts, trimmed nails, wearing the prescribed school uniform, and the complete prohibition of mobile phones within the school campus.

The topic of attendance and leave rules was then presented by Sir Hemanta, Academic Coordinator. He explained the minimum attendance requirements for both SSP and General students and elaborated on the leave rules to be followed. He cautioned that the name of any student remaining absent for seven consecutive days, or for seven days in a month without a proper leave application, would be struck off the rolls. He also explained the correct procedure for writing and submitting leave applications in a timely manner.

The final speaker was Sir Dhiren, Head of the Department of Chemistry. He announced that the allotment of class rolls, sections, and bus routes would be communicated to the students through SMS on their registered mobile numbers. He also informed the students coming from other boards about the need to obtain Eligibility Certificates after completing the necessary formalities.

Both sessions concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the programme host, Madam Chitanbala, who expressed gratitude to the students and parents for their participation and cooperation.
